Art in Ancient Greece
In Greek architecture, there is nothing unnecessary. It has simplicity, gentleness and harmony as its main characteristic. It lacks the size and impressioness of ancient Egyptian buildings. Modesty is its nature, and its design is light. The music of ancient Greece served both ritual and social purposes, and different modes (scales) were designated to serve different events (mourning, feasts etc.).
