Abstract Painting
This trend created art that is
non-descriptional. Much like in a musical piece, a composition that creates
a psychological effect, yet not necessarily in a defined way. To
a great extent, this trend was derived from expressionism. Kandinsky,
who was also a musician (he learned to play the piano and the cello), was
the main artist in this school, and his "The
Blue Rider"
was the first abstract painting. Kandinsky viewed children's painting,
as the most naive and natural form of this art, and hence, from here, drew
the source for the very idea of abstract painting. Franz
Marc
painted mostly animals, which he considered the last representatives of
innocent, unspoiled nature.
